The Real Super Bowl Weekend‏ Sent:Mon 4/07/14 2:44 PM

Sorry out of town last week...

Hello mother and others that care about me,
Man General Conference was awesome. id like you to know that i didnt fall asleep during any of the talks! i think that was the first time ever! we watched all the sessions at a member of the branch presidency's house with most of the ysa branch. it was a lot of fun. all the talks were just perfect! Ron, our recent convert, made it to the priesthood session and loved it. the next morning after the first talk we get a text from him that just said "WOW." this man really is so prepared. i feel so blessed to be able to see him just cling to the gospel so strong... it blows my mind. my favorite talk must have been from Elder Anderson or Elder Halstrom. both of them have places in my heart and they killed it!!!
I had MLC this week too. Man, talk about being blessed. getting to hear from President Pingree every month is one all in its self. Talk about spirit overload with conference and President Pingree. so much fun being out here.
this week was really cool, Miracle wise too. so a couple of weeks back we were buying a birthday gift for an investigator and this really nice lady pays for it and says she has talked to missionaries before. as we were walking out we give her our card with our number on it. Well, two days later she calls us inviting us for dinner. so this monday we had dinner with her... awesome. she fed us breakfast. as all of you know, that is my favorite meal. so she already had a place in my heart. we spent some time with her and when the time came to leave, it just felt more right to say a simple prayer  rather than to give a lesson. she has now called us about 3 more times, 2 times to invite us for dinner or lunch. we went over yesterday and she taught us how to make some dishes out of our leftovers. she has also been looking up things on us missionaries, our rules, schedule, etc. years back she stayed at a member’s house in Utah and lets just say they were crazy, which gave her a weird taste in her mouth about mormons. i think by just going there, being normal, and bringing our spirit, i think good things will happen. i have a really good feeling about her.
we also go a referral for this family that wanted to meet with us (that never happens). we go over there and there is a potbelly pig, peacocks, a goose, and a few dogs. no their names were not the McDonalds. their friend referred them, he has been talking with him about the church for 8 years. so we talked with them about the book of mormon. the wife was Baptist growing up but was really nice and they both said they would read and watch conference.
Then some sisters in the other ysa ward down in the woodlands has been teaching someone that lives in Huntsville, but goes to church with her BF down there. so on the weekdays we can teach her and then on the weekends she can go down there. we met with her and had a really good lesson. we just answered a lot of questions so that was good. she texted us today and wants to meet up tonight. lets pray she isn’t confused about something that is turning her away. maybe she just wants to tell us she wants to get baptized!!! it could happen!!!
well everyone sounds like they had a full week! Chandler finally wrote me back! ha no biggie. you and lace have the cutest baby in the world. Sterling, you are the man. keep working hard and making Ariel happy! Dad, you are a work horse! i love that about you! so excited to get some pictures from the lambson family visit this week! ha and mom, you are just the best mom ever. no one can beat you!
Well, with all these different miracles this week the lord had to do a little bit of humbling. we were at a RC's house. she was fixing us a quick salad. Well, i was a little bored so i found something on a keychain that looked like a flashlight. so i start inspecting it. i soon learn that the button needs to be pushed up and then down. so i was looking at the light end of it and push it... but there was no light and it just sprayed something at my eye... it wasnt perfume. soon after that my eye starts to burn a little. so i go to the bathroom to futher check it out. my eye is bloodshot... so i quickly take my contact out and it hurts... soon everyone in the house starts coughing... then my face starts burning a little bit more... if yall havent caught on yet, it wasnt a flashlight but Mace... yes i know... as i was trying to get it out of my left eye it transferred to my right eye and was soon completely immobilized. i was out for the next hour with a cool rag on my face to just cool it down... so what did we learn, never look into to a flashlight, because it might not be a flashlight.

i love you all so much! i want you all to know how much i love being out here on a mission to serve our savior and lord. best time of my life for sure right here. i will see yall soon enough.
