Hey Mother and Others,
Well what a week. Ron Ellis got baptized this week, how cool is that. he is so prepared. good things are happening here. it was a really cool experience. this last week was basically just getting everything settled for his baptism... so a lot of phone calls, last minute appointments and all of that jazz, that is the only bad thing for having someone so prepared, but we loved it. we had a special musical number sung, "Jesus Hold my Hand" its a southern gospel song and its pretty cool. ha there are a lot of cool songs like that. i really do love being in the south. everyone has a deep love for Christ, and most people are somewhat civil. i feel bad for all of my other friends who dont have this experience.
back to the baptism... so we invited our investigators to the baptism. we really wanted him to come, Brandon, and he did come but right after the ordinance. it was so crazy. but he stayed for the rest of it. after he wanted to see our chapel, what a golden opportunity. we took him there with his fellowshipping family. that was cool. earlier that week we went with him to see his churches’ "sanctuaries," and let me tell you there was a difference. theirs was a lot more elaborate, but i didnt feel anything at all. it was a strange empty feeling. i am so glad that on my mission i have really started to understand what the spirit feels like, and know the difference.
man everyone sounds like life is interesting. Sterling, i miss you man. i hope you are staying stress free. Ariel, good luck this week. Chandler, how are you? i havent heard a lot from you, are you doing good? i love you tons. Lacey, good luck with work and such. how are you liking your job? Dad, i am stoked you are getting a new bike... i got a bike from a member but its basically just a frame which is way too small for me so i really dont “have” a bike because i will just leave it here.
this week we wanted to start a diet. we wanted to cut out a lot of carbs. well the day we planned to start an investigator invited us over for breakfast, he made biscuits and gravy, i couldnt say no. then he bought us sandwiches for lunch. then a member comes over and bought us groceries: cereal, bread and ravioli... i think the Lord said dont start that diet... haha
well that about sums up my week. i love you all so much be safe and keep praying.
Elder Nymeyer
