Read Mormon 9‏ Sent: Wed 1/22/14 11:55 AM

MOM,
hello my family! yesterday was MLK day, as you all know, so i couldnt email, crazy life. last week was really cool. good things are starting to happen. well kinda... last week i got pretty sick for one day, but besides that it has been great. we are really starting to change this area around. its funny how being obedient really does change your whole mission. super fun!
we had interviews this week. I have only 5 more months with president pingree. so i am taking full advantage of all the time i have with him. picking his brain on all subjects is kinda the best thing ever. he is the best guy ever. then on thursday we went on an exchange with the zone leader for stake correlation. his area is a huge branch... huge area wise. so they have a really hard time finding investigators. while we were there we had a little bit of time to stop by a less active they knew nothing about. come to find out it was a part-member family that was really nice and wanted to learn more... super awesome. then after stake correlation we did another exchange with some other missionaries that are having a little bit of a hard time.  we went to the golden arches and this rough looking kid walks in with a house arrest anklet. as i was looking at it he looks over and sees me looking... then he continues to stare me down the whole time he is ordering. when he sits down he still is looking at me, giving me a weird stink eye look... well the other elder has to go to the bathroom and when he leaves for the restroom the rough kid gets up and starts walking towards me.  i am trying to think of what ninja things i can do if he tries to pull a move. when he gets up to me he asks if i have any books or pamphlets. of course i say yes. turns out he is just getting out of prison and wants to change his life... its was cool to be there for that.  The next day we try to find a less active\former investigator, its pretty dark,  but we are fearless and go and do. we end up finding out they moved out about 5 months ago.  we start talking to the guy who lives there now. he seemed pretty interested and really nice. he invited both of us back for a catfish fry in the spring whenever we are in texas. ha i love how nice all these people are.
man lots have happened with the family this week. a new niece (zoey), Jp swimming. man, glad to hear all is well. UofA is doing well. woop woop. ha i need to get me a UofA tie for March madness. ha the broncos won... i was talking to a guy on our way to visit an elderly lady and the game was on. ha cheating the system. ha i am sure sterling is pretty pumped. lace and chan are such good parents. the video is so precious. i am so lucky. ha JP is growing so fast. i cant imagine how it must be to be the parents and see that everyday! lucky ducks. Dad, you are the best!!! keep being awesome!
well yesterday we went to the community MLK day celebration with our bishop. let me tell you that was an experience. so many black people.... there was a preacher there and he basically taught a sermon. there was a lot of "amen’s" "Preach Preacher" and music during the prayers. one had a harmonica... yeah... it was strange. we got back to the car and bishop said "when reading the book of mormon and it talks about 'Priest crafts' that is what they are talking about." it was a totally different world! in case you are wondering... yes.... i did take a video.
well i love yall a whole lot. keep reading the scriptures and praying for miracles!
