Mom,
Okay first off, i am very sorry for not writing sooner. we had a sorta busy day. we had to do laundry at another elders' apartment like 20 minutes away and the internet was down over there. so that ate a lot of the day.
this week was good. we taught this less active guy who is totally skewed about the church. it was strange cause my comp and I couldnt say anything. the spirit was just not there. it was soo strange. lets just say i didnt like it at all. we got a referral from the spanish elders and he let us talk to him. he is 19 years old, living on his own. he prayed to know what church he should go to. good thing we showed up. it was a learning experience though,i have never taught an investigator from step 1 so that was weird. i messed up a bit, but he invited us back, so i must not have done that bad. we gave a blessing to a member. that was a cool experience. i have given a lot of blessing already on my mission. its just so cool how the spirit works like that. you just feel so focused on that person and what that person needs, amazing. the lord can work so many great miracles through a little kid from tucson.
that's awesome that Taylor Strickland is called here. he is going to love it. i dont know him, but he is going to love it. three people from tucson? that is going to be crazy down here!!! baptizing by the masses! ha just kidding.
mom, i am so glad you had so much fun on that cruise, sounds really fun. dad, great idea about going out from galviston. its like an hour from my area right now. i am not homesick, what would ever make you think that? though the cookies brought me back, i aint going to lie. i love the pictures. they went by really fast. its snowed in tucson?!?!? the one last safe haven from snow, haha i had enough snow in the MTC for a while. i just hope it doesnt hit me down here. ha i hope the family is awesome. the few people i heard from, ha.
i can see why everyone loves serving a mission. i have made some good friends, i can already tell. well being a trainer at 6 weeks, that isnt fun!! the reason i am doing it is because they split our area. i had to take over the area. why they put me with a brand spanking new missionary? not a clue, but i have really had to grow up a lot through this time though. i still dont know what i am really doing, but i know that the lord has me here for a reason. i have someone to touch with my spirit and leadership. scary. my comp probably wont leave for brazil till next transfer. so i will train longer than i have been trained. strange right. to answer the question... did i finish my 12 program? no i havent. will i? i hope not. that program is like a drawn out MTC in the field. it will be awesome for the missionaries that dont go the full time at MTC, but i didnt like it.
well, thank you all for my prayers. thanks everyone who wrote a letter of encouragement. i love reading about your lives and such.
take care now,
elder nymeyer
