So second week of training...‏Sent: Mon 2/18/13 8:17 PM

Dear family,

So, week 2 of training. Well trainer B is still freaking out. As you all have said... going from greenie to trainer is super crazy! All my mission friends tell me that I am going to do alright, but it is still kind of crazy.  Well, I hope I am doing a good job. He isn’t dead or sent home yet so that’s a plus.

The area we are in is big, so I kind of got a little bit of everything. We have the town of Conroe, which has some downtown characteristics. We have some pretty thick slumsish part with trailers and such. Then, we have the rural countryside, so some big ranches and lots of land. Then, some really nice upscale neighborhoods. Those are really nice. So, I kind of got everything. That’s nice. I really miss 2nd ward. There are some families I really connected to, but 1st ward isn’t bad. We have a recent convert move into are ward. This big black guy is about 400 pounds. He grew up in the ghetto of New Orleans, and he is a professional wrestler with the heart of a lion! He is awesome. He has some people he wants us to teach, so that will be good.

This Sunday was stake conference. It was weird though. It was a regional stake conference. It was from salt lake and showed in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. Elder Richard G Scott talked about womanhood, and President Eyring talked about diligence and prayer. Those were super good. I wish I could get those talks on paper.

Life is good. Everyone is telling me the summer is going to suck. It probably will. But it’s better than the snow of Utah. (Oh yeah my trainee is from West Jordan Utah. He is 19, and we came into the mtc the same day.) Crazy right.

To answer a few questions. Yes, I have a new car 2013 Toyota Corolla. It’s got Bluetooth…. Hands free calling the members yo! It’s pretty nice. I am pretty rusty at the wheel, but I am getting better. I can still drive better than a Chilean. I have a new apartment. Pretty nice for an apartment. We have 1 desk, 1 table, a few pots and pans and silverware, a fridge and microwave. I have some pictures of it, so I will send those back sometime soon. I didn’t really change wards. I was covering two wards, and then they split us. I got the first ward. Just to clear that up.

Mother, I haven’t received your package yet! It could come today though. I will check for sure. I did get a package from the Pursleys! Full of cookies. It was pretty cool thank you so much!  Uncle Luis, thank you so much for the letter! You rock. Jake, way to go getting your call to Africa. That is so cool. Try not to get too tan. Is it English speaking or what? When do you leave? Lace, I am glad to hear baby life is good. Chandler, you will be an awesome dad. I am sorry to hear that Max is scared of coyotes. I miss coyotes. There are so many stray cats out here…. I hate them!  Sterling, don’t take down any more girls in soccer games alright? Ariel, keep up the good work. You are amazing. Mom and dad, I hope you are having a blast on that cruise. The pictures look amazing.

But life is good. The church is true. I know that for a fact. The leaders of the church are amazing. They know justabout everything in the church. I love it.

Love elder B

Bonus Features:

1.     I know I am pretty sad I didn’t get my package yet. I want to eat those sugar cookies. See them at least. Are there pictures in the package? For Valentine’s Day, a member took us to get some BBQ. Its like Mr. Ks but... umm... better. No lie. All you can eat sides. Amazing. I didn’t convert the 400lb wrestler. He would teach me some moves, I am sure, but he has a staff infection right now so no training for me. He is a big dude though. He is an artist, and he told me he is going to draw on a tie and make something cool. That will be awesome. Well both of my investigators got baptized. Carina got baptized last week, and Tressie got baptized Saturday. Ahhh it was so awesome to see them. They both seem really excited. To see the look in their eyes before and after are amazing. How’s chandler and “Stonewall” {aka Sterling}?

2.     I didn’t do the baptisms. I witnessed one of them. Amazing. Yes, we do it in our building. No, I won’t be a B pancake after I wrestle with the 400lb convert. It would be a big pancake. The members who are feeding us tonight are giving us French Toast! Yeah. Lets just say I am super excited. Ha-ha chandler is such a nice guy! Does little kumquat have a name yet? I wont steal it I promise. Stonewall, its good to be lean. One day I will be like that. Ha-ha it’s hard to do it with all the food they give us. Hey, tell Sterling to keep their apartment until I get engaged. Ha-ha that would be a sweet gig. Ha, anything new and fancy in Tucson?
3.     Oh I will miss Tucson heat. No lie. Sterling will do great as a CDO coach. He is a good football coach. He coached the 2nd best center MVHS has ever had. So, he will do alright. Yeah. Football is huge down here. I love it. Best place ever. Well I got to go. I love you lace. You rock. Talk to you soon.
