Dear Mom,
Well today is the day... President Mortensen arrives this afternoon to the Texas Houston Mission. I am a little nervous but more excited. President Pingree will always have a strong place in my heart, but i feel i will be able to say the same for President Mortensen. I havent met him yet but he was called of God. I am excited to learn some new things from him and grow with him. I will meet him on Wednesday at Zone conference and then interviews the next week or so.
This week was the best send off to President Pingree that i could ask for. We had a Special Endowment training with Presidents Pingree and Crane (the Temple President). they asked us two questions. President Crane asked "Who are we?" and President Pingree asked "What Does it mean to offer Sacrifice in the name of the Only Begotten Of The Father?" It was the most amazing temple session i have ever done! afterwards we went and had an hour discussion with those 2 inspired men. i learned so much. the temple really is a holy place filled with love and beauty. we talked about how going to the temple is like going home. i love the temple because i feel that sense of home when i go there. it is so important to feel that in this world of shifting values. Our entire mission got to attend the temple over 4 days, my session set a Texas Houston record of 64 of us in an endowment session.
we are working really hard over here. its a little slow but we are still trying hard to stay busy. we are trying to work with a lot more members cause they aren’t super missionary focused. that will change. We received a referral for this guy named Freddie wanting a book of mormon. we stop by and knock on the door and a guy named jordan answered the door and said that his husband wasnt home yet and for us to come back. we said okay and walk away. we get to the van, look at each other, and realize he said husband. it really caught us off guard. Anyway, we went back and had a nice little chat with Freddie and gave him the book of mormon. he is going to read it and we are going back in a couple of weeks!
Well home sounds good! Everyone is happy and feeling better. JP is spoiled to say the least, she got so many toys. ha she will be a good older sister, just like mine. ha How is Sterlings calling to be a Mission Prep Teacher going? Dad, take it easy! I know how busy you are, be careful and good luck. Chandler, i am glad you are feeling better, same goes to you Ariel. Good luck with work you two!
Well, i love you guys so much, be safe and keep living the Gospel!
Love, Elder Nymeyer
