dear mom,
well, every one’s letters this week were awesome. I hope I can follow suit and write a good one. this week was good. we have really tried to keep things fresh and awesome. I feel like good things will happen in this area. its getting a little cold at nights and the afternoons are brisk sometimes, but as they say in Houston "if you don't like the weather just wait 15 minutes" and that is just about right. its veterans day so texans knows how to go big. lots of America flags everywhere and BBQ's I am pretty sure. its going to be good. near our apartment they have the traveling Vietnam wall memorial. we went yesterday and that was so awesome. they hallowed the ground and had people standing guard. it was really cool. the spirit was really strong there, but it was sad cause lots of people did realize it because they are spiritually numb. it was kinda sad to see, but that's why I am here, right, to help fix that!!
its also really fun to feel the Lord really help in the work. we were walking one day and had about an hour and a half for dinner. so we decided to see a less active just because we were going to go up to the light anyway to cross the street. so we walk down the road and knock on these nice people’s door and they welcomed us in. the wife was feeling a little bit sick with an inner ear infection. little did we know that they had their 2nd cousin living with them for a little bit. she asked if we could give her a blessing so she could find a job. of course we said yes! after describing what a blessing is and why we have that authority we gave the blessing and it was super awesome. she is awesome. she is really looking to change her life right now and I think we can help with that. Plus, I think this will help the less active family as well. so positive all around.
so let me just say... JP is super cute!!! a little chunky but who am I to talk!! ha I loved laceys email. I don't know why you don't write me more, you are so awesome. I am glad to hear all is going well at the park with sterling and ariel. Chandler, I hope all is well with you! the grandparents sound good. its going to be weird adjusting to the new ward... I don't know anyone there!! ha
funny story of the week. we were walking across the street one day and we get about half way and this truck is taking a left hand turn and we heard a loud snap and looked and a 4 wheeler fell out of the back of the truck and the 4 wheeler is just sitting in the middle of the intersection... the truck didn't even slow down... so us as missionaries drop our stuff and run out to try to move it out of the road... I found out I am not 4wheeler savy. I was trying to get it in neutral and we hear a "that's my 4wheeler" it reminded me of the movie hot rod! ha well for some reason he had the keys to it and drove it off the road. All in all, it was a crazy experience. #onlyintexas
anyway, I hope all is going well. I love all of you tons, be safe. Love, love
