Both Spiritually and Physically fed Date: October 7, 2013, 1:43:22 PM

hello my dearest family,

well, thank you for all of my birthday messages and gifts, you guys are the best. I will give you the update on my birthday. On Friday the 4th we had a zone meeting. after that we had a DLC and then sister Folsom needed to talk to me for a little longer. so by the time we are done everyone is waiting for us and I start to go outside and there  is something on my car. so I thought someone forgot something so I was going to take it. (sticky fingers). I get to it and its a happy birthday ribbon and some balloons in the car. when I turn around my district is walking out with silly string and a burning cake, singing happy birthday. it was really fun. I am so blessed to have such a great district and an awesome mom!! (I sent Sister Folsom a package of birthday stuff for B)
On Friday, we were walking through the park and saw all of these BBQ pits. so we go and find out what is going on. it was a BBQ cook off starting the next day (Saturday afternoon) so of course we go to be seen. I found out everyone is super nice, we would walk up and they would say "y'all look hungry" so they would continue to stack our plates full of food. let me just say that was awesome. I have had some of the best brisket ever. the ribs were good because of the rub, but dad still makes some mean ribs. the best ribs there had a brown sugar rub on them, those were sooo good. the smoke rings on those are so deep and thick, I loved it. I got a email from Aunt sherri, she was talking about how its easy to gain weight in Africa because of their eating conditions, "rice, beans and spam." Yeah, texas might be worse cause the food is amazing. we had about 3 plates at the BBQ. then we went to a member’s house to watch the Saturday session, totally awesome! I think that one was my favorite. elder bednar’s talk that morning was awesome. then ballard’s talk on missionary work was awesome, soo good. after that session the members made some baked chicken, rolls with jam, mac and cheese with some good apple pie. then went to the stake center for Priesthood. I am not a fan at watching that at home. I would have been with sterling. (Sterling’s idea to watch conference at the Stake Center)
sunday morning we went to the moonyhams. we had breakfast there. French toast and eggs with bacon. great session. then had lunch with a less active family. they bought pizza.... talk about awkward. ha then we had to rush back to the church to catch the last session, which was really good. then we had to go to dinner at another members home. he was smoking brisket since 6 that morning. yeah it was way good. did I feel like a ompa lumpa? yes. I am not eating breakfast or lunch today. ha
well you guys sound awesome, thank you for the shirt, shoes and stuff. Dad, your life is always pretty crazy. I hope you be able to take all of it on. Sterling, you rock. stay busy and make ariel happy. ha ariel, you rock!! chan and lace, thank you for your gifts. yall rock. Mom, you are so funny. Christensens sound awesome. you guys are so awesome. Aunt sherri, I don't know if I told you but jake’s ZL in the MTC is visa waiting in my mission in my zone. he said he loved jake.
well, a cool experience this week was we got a call from the bishop to go bless a house with him for a less active. it wasn't too trippy. There are some pretty strange people in Texas, its just the cold hard truth!!
love all yall. have a good week.
