Subject: What is up? Sent: Monday, January 14, 2013 7:42 PM

mom,

well this week was crazy, i almost got hit by a semi truck, i saw an apostle of the lord, i went to chipolte, i am like a real cowboy.... kinda, i can understand a little bit of spanish, i extended 3 baptismal invites, and we got 2 baptismal dates. i know, sounds like a blast huh??? well first the semi truck, we were going to get some gas out in the boondocks, and we were in the turning lane, just waiting when from behind a bus in the other lane a semi truck comes into the middle lane. we are just staring at it not knowing what to do, it was going fast and not slowing down. about 10-5 feet before it hit us it swerves back into the other lane. i saw my life flash before my eyes. so scary.

saturday we had a tri mission conference for elder ballard. he is really short, if you didnt know, but he is so spiritually huge. he read 3 nephi 11 and it was amazing. so cool, he talked about missionary work. i saw some friends and the red headed guy... i walked in and i heard him over the whole room of about 300 elders... yeahhhhhh but elder williams is great. he is a good guy. i am adjusting pretty well. its sucks to wake up but its getting easier.

i went to chipotle. its not as good when real mexicans arent making it, and i lost my planner. that sucked.
i am a real cowboy!! for service we help this girl who works on a ranch. this week we unloaded a hay truck, and cleaned some stalls. last week we cut some trees and stuff! it is cool. i really need some boots! like semi legit ones cause the real legit ones are pricey! my ward mission leader in 2 ward, that i love, he and his wife served in Honduras so when we are there they speak spanish, sometimes. so i go to the corner  and read a bilingual baby book for their new born! dont worry i am still loved!

i have extended 3 baptismal dates this week! all of them said yes but my first one i was nervous and didnt ask for a date. dont worry, i am still learning. i will get there. i dont think i will be doing the baptism though. they all have a priesthood friend/husband who will baptize them.

you guys sound like you are doing awesome. yeah it is getting pretty cold here too! its supposed to rain all week and the high is mid 40s... yeah not too excited about that. lace, sorry you had to work on sunday! i would punch them in the face but i am pretty far away. mom, glad to hear you guys are doing good. sterling and Big A, way to be soccer all stars. i am sure you guys are the two best looking out there, but i would still like to hear about your lives. good luck in school.

grandma nymeyer, thanks for the calendar and book of mormon sheet (mom, can i say that the calendar makes me laugh every time. some of the pictures are just..... weird.... the nose surgery one gets me every time, but it is nice to know the dates and stuff) man i cant believe i am turning 20 this year... freak!

dad, i am glad you are doing all right! guys!! whats up with the broncos??? how could we lose!!! this is crazy!!! how is my fantasy team doing? did i make a comeback? i know all this cause no matter where you go there will be football scores or something about they hate liberals ha dad would love it.

hmm anything that i need.... i dont know, ties are cool, sweet zebra pens are nice, gift cards are cool. there is a nike factory in my area soooo i might need to go shopping there some time.

i am good, i love all yall so much!

hey man, congrats on going on a mission. some tips for the mtc... learn to love your district and zone. really, they will keep you sane. know that gym will be your best friend. when you go to the temple, eat there. its real food. when you are in the classroom try really hard to stay focused but its hard so dont worry about it. learn to like role playing. you will do it all the time, and try to be 100% obedient. it is hard, but you will see so many blessings. also, dont be afraid to be you, its like having a clean slate. no one knows you or your past so just start doing everything right at the start. i love you man. you will do some great work up in colorado.
