Dear Mom and Thor and Zoey,
well this week just kept me busy for sure!!! we went to MLC tuesday. it was president mortensens first one so that was interesting. he so good at speaking and teaching. we learned about "Master Teaching," so good. i am still trying to understand if other missions have the same kind of mission presidents i do. i mean these two guys have taught me so much about everything, more than i ever thought i could learn. they are very different in the way they work with missionaries, but they have a similar spirit about them that just lets you know they are called of God.
so this saturday i got invited up to huntsville for a baptism of a person i started teaching, Franklin is his name. i had to get a ride, so we took a member who is thinking about serving a mission. the only thing is he has never driven outside of katy before. For your information, huntsville is about 2 hours away, freeway driving through downtown houston....yeah, we were pretty scared not going to lie. we were all praying so hard to not get in an accident. the lord protected us all the way down so that was good. it was so good to see everyone up in huntsville. so many people gave me so much love. i really think that huntsville is my favorite place, but i also love magnolia. i just cant decide.
We had a Zone meeting friday and it was intense. it was my first one in the katy zone. it was a lot bigger than any other zone i have been in. katy is the biggest zone in the mission, so that was really fun to do.
we had Stake Conference this weekend. a member of the 70 came, Elder Romeo Villareal. he was super awesome to listen to. The missionaries were asked to sing "Spirit of God," that was really cool. we had the stake sing the last verse with us. it was so much fun to listen to the spirit of that song come and just hit us in the face. i loved it. most of conference was about temples and covenants. it was cool to have the spirit testify to me of all of those truths.
man Dad i saw your video... how awesome are you!!! Mom, you are awesome as always. Sterling, keep up the good work. i so want to get into coaching when i get back!!!! you guys looked like you have so much fun doing that!!! ha Lace, you got the Hook Up!!!! good thing your favorite brother, the one you havent seen in two years, comes home right before basketball season... just saying! haha Ariel, stay busy and fun! Chandler, i hope all is going well for you!!! i cant wait to ride our bikes together. you guys might smoke me cause you guys got fancy bikes!
This week i was really thinking about the calling of the priesthood and i thought of some cool stuff. president Allen (stake President) said that the priesthood is just like any other calling. the saturday night session talked about how the temple allows the priesthood to be used to the fullest. so i was thinking in missionary work i use the Lord to help me in my calling to find, teach and baptize. so the Lord will equally bless us for temple work and priesthood callings. i thought that was kinda cool because i am spending two years to understand how to enlist the Lord for help in missionary work, but that is really just preparing me to enlist the same help in everything else i need!
i love your guts everyone. keep reading and praying and know that the Lord is watching over you
Elder Nymeyer
